Process
The process involves gathering a lot of documentation both in UK and your home country. You can do it on your own, but it would be easier and faster to use local professionals. UK Tier 1 Visa requirements change according to the level of investment.
However, as an investor, you are required to:
  • Have opened a UK bank account or investment account
  • Have investment funds held in a recognized financial institution (For at least 2 years prior to application)
  • Provide evidence that the funds were acquired legally
  • Proof that the funds belong to the applicant or spouse
  • Must make the UK their main home
  • Must spend at least 180 days of the year in the UK
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must prove that they have no criminal convictions and are of good character
  • Provide a tuberculosis test result
Timeline 2M GBP:

Month 1: Investors are required to make an investment of £2 million for the Tier 1 visa. (This visa offers temporary residency in the UK for the investor and their immediate family.)
Month 2: The investor receives a Tier 1 visa ( The tier 1 visa is valid 3 years and 4 months and applicants can apply to extend this residency a further 2 years.)
Year 3: Extend visa for a further 2 years.
Year 5: Can apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain. Year 6: Can apply for British citizenship. (There is no direct UK citizenship by investment programme.)

Timeline 5M GBP:

0-1 month: Investors are required to make an investment of £5million for the Tier 1 visa. (This visa offers temporary residency in the UK for the investor and their immediate family.)
Month 2: The investor receives a Tier 1 visa.
Year 3: Can apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain.
Year 5: Can apply for British citizenship. (There is no direct UK citizenship by investment programme.)

Timeline 10M GBP:

0-1 month: Investors are required to make an investment of £10million for the Tier 1 visa. (Thisvisa offers temporary residency in the UK for the investor and their immediate family.)
Month 2: The investor receives a Tier 1 visa.
Year 2: Can apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain.
